Pen Pal Letter
Directions: After we read the book, write a pen pal letter to Tango! Feel free to ask her anything you want.
As you write, be sure to follow the friendly letter format. The friendly letter consists of a:
Heading - Includes the address and the date on the top right corner. In some cases, it is okay to just write the date.
Greeting - The greeting is on the top left (one line down from the heading) and usually starts with 'Dear' followed by the person's name and a comma.
Body - After skipping a line, you begin the body of the letter, which is the main text of your letter. Be sure to indent after every new paragraph!
Closing - The closing (on the bottom right) includes a short capitalized expression such as 'Sincerely' or 'Love' and is followed by a comma. Skip a line after the body before writing your closing.
Signature - You sign your name directly below the closing.
Postscript - Sometimes you may add another thought at the end of your letter. You write P.S., add a note, and then end it with your initials.
